Cook Books and Recipes

Why I write Cook Books

When I need a break from writing, I go to the kitchen to measure out flour and other ingredients for scones or other delicious fanciful desserts, adding just enough sweetness to complete my day.  I love to serve tea, or host Irish Ceili (Pronounced Kay-Lee:  An Irish tradition of music, dancing and story telling) in our home - where I serve the desserts that I have experimented with and I share my successes.  I was getting so many requests for my recipes that I decided I should write a cook book.  Then Maggie came along and created some amazing whimsical / fanciful illustrations that I just love - and together we created  Pavlova in a Hat Box.  You will have to read the stories in the Cook Book to find out why it is called that...

Maggie and I are working on our second cookbook called
Laughter in the Kitchen, which we hope to publish in early 2026.  Are you ready for some more fun and laughter in YOUR kitchen?

When I'm not writing or baking, I enjoy Irish set dancing, traveling, reading, painting, hiking, raising Monarch butterflies, kayaking, creating and hosting events that bring people together through food and dance, laughing until it hurts, and dreaming about possibilities.

Pavlova in a Hat Box

Published in 2015, this was a dream come true.  Getting so many requests for recipes made me realize that I needed to write a cook book!  So I got to work, and selected my most popular (and successful) desserts and treats, and the concept for Pavlova was born.  Then Maggie Martin joined with me to do a fabulous job of bringing a sense of whimsy into it - truly representing who I am when in the kitchen 'creating' and experimenting!  We had a lot of fun pulling it all together, and with the help of Pear Tree Publishing - Pavlova in a Hat Box was born!

Laughter in the Kitchen

10 years has given me lots of time to do more experimenting in the kitchen and find even more whimsical and delightful desserts and treats to share with my followers.  So I thought it was time to get back to work with Maggie and come up with a new Cook Book for you all to have some fun with.  A kitchen is the center of the home - a place of good smells, good eats, and home cooking.  Add a pinch of laughter to that, and you have the best of all worlds.  Pick up a copy in early 2026 when it comes out.  Drop me a line on my contact me page, and let me know how you like it!  And while you're at it - send me your favorite recipe!  If I like it, I'll post it on my website and give you credit!
